Amedeo Clivio

Barrister & Solicitor

Amedeo Clivio received his Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2014, where he developed a passion for immigration law, and especially refugee law. He was called to the bar in 2015. In 2016, he started Clivio Law P.C.; on his own at first, gradually building an exceptional team of lawyers and support staff.​

Amedeo regularly represents clients before all divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board, and the Federal Court, as well as in various applications with Immigration Canada. His most notable cases include Rozas Del Solar, a landmark case in administrative law, and Feher, a constitutional challenge to a policy that restricted rights for refugee claimants from certain countries based on their nationality.

Meera Budovitch

Barrister & Solicitor

Meera Budovitch has been practicing exclusively in the field of Immigration and Refugee Law since her call to the bar in 2012. She received her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law school in 2011 where she worked full-time as an immigration law division leader at the Community and Legal Aid Services Program. Prior to attending law school, she majored in Equity Studies and Employment Relations at the University of Toronto where she was awarded with the Baron De Douglas and Ada Crone scholarship for high academic achievement. 

Meera practices in all areas of immigration law, and regularly represents clients before visa offices, the Immigration and Refugee Board, and the Federal Court.

Alim Jiwa

Barrister & Solicitor

Alim Jiwa practices exclusively in the field of immigration and refugee law. He regularly represents clients in their hearings before the Refugee Protection Division (RPD) of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB). He also has worked on a range of other types of files within this area of law, including Humanitarian and Compassionate Applications and Spousal Sponsorships.

Alim graduated with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law in June 2020 and was called to the Bar in 2021 after articling with Clivio Law.

Calvin Yang

Paralegal

Calvin is a paralegal at Clivio Law. Calvin completed his Paralegal Certification at George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology in Toronto and obtained his Paralegal License from the LSO (Law Society of Ontario). Calvin joined Clivio Law in 2021 and has since exclusively practiced in the field of immigration and refugee law.

Cecilia Cerna

Law Clerk

Cecilia has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the “Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas” in El Salvador and a Master’s Degree in Marketing from the “Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya” in Spain.

Aline Nino de Rivera

Law Clerk

Aline was born and raised in Mexico, and she moved to Canada in 2019. Aline is able to communicate in Spanish and English. Aline completed her Law Clerk Program at Centennial College and in her final semester she had the opportunity to accomplish her work placement at Clivio Law P.C. Through her education and personal experiences, she learned the importance of seeing the world from all different perspectives.

Elaina Mohr

Law Clerk

Elaina did her undergraduate degree in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Waterloo, graduating in 2021. After graduating, Elaina worked for a non-for-profit organization as a Refugee Settlement worker and lived in Transitional Housing alongside recently arrived refugees as a Housing Coordinator. It was here that Elaina developed a passion for rights for refugees and pathways to status for all.

Giselle Chan

Student-at-Law

Giselle Chan is a current student at Osgoode Hall Law School where she had the opportunity to intern with Clivio Law through the Intensive Program in Immigration and Refugee Law in her second year. She was also an interpreter for the Community Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP) and a volunteer for the Afghan Women’s Organization where she conducted legal research in immigration, refugee, and family law with Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC) at Osgoode.
