Alim Jiwa

Alim Jiwa practices exclusively in the field of immigration and refugee law. He regularly represents clients in their hearings before the Refugee Protection Division (RPD) of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB). He also has worked on a range of other types of files within this area of law, including Humanitarian and Compassionate Applications and Spousal Sponsorships.
Alim graduated with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law in June 2020 and was called to the Bar in 2021 after articling with Clivio Law. He also previously worked at Clivio Law as a summer student in 2019. During the summer of 2018, he worked as a summer student within the immigration law program of Legal Assistance of Windsor (LAW), one of the university’s legal clinics. At LAW, he gained exposure to a wide range of cases in immigration and refugee law and obtained significant experience dealing with vulnerable clients. He also completed a semester student placement at LAW, also in immigration law, during the Winter and Spring of 2019.
In his spare time, Alim enjoys traveling and reading. He is passionate about human rights, international affairs and global cuisine.
